NEONATAL DISORDER STATE IN UGANDA

Neonatal disorders refer to the disturbance of the normal state of the body organs and abnormal function of a new born. They are bacterial in nature and include a variety of diseases like pneumonia, sepsis, meningitis and many others

These have been some of the diseases that have affected the young generation on larger basis affecting more of the children. Statistics has it that 8.2  million die under the age of 5 each year and of these 3.3 million  die during the first month of their lives.

Uganda in this case has been affected in a way that 141,000 children die due to these Neonatal disorders 26% of these die in their first month. These disorders in Uganda are caused by tetanus, pneumonia, diarrhoea, prematurity birth and etc. These factors have been related to improper utilisation of health services, failure to embrace proper antenatal care ,poor hygiene and a lower percentage of negligence by the parents.

However the efforts to reduction of the immortality rate due to Neonatal disorders in Uganda has not been significant based on the fact that from 2000 to 2010 it was reduced by just 2.2%. Which is not a certifying figure.

Therefore this calls for  serious caution to the parents to embrace proper antenatal care in oder to save the young generation.
