The 35 NUP legislators attended the NUP meeting yesterday with the President Kyagulanyi which is said to have lasted for over 3hours.

According to the TV 10 inside sources, the minutes of the meeting show that at least 17 members were absent with apology and the five were absent without apology.

The meeting resolved that the party will be taking action for those who were absent without apology and of whom include Twaha Kagabo the Bukoto South MP, Jimmy Lwanga of Njeru Municipality, Micheal Kakembo of the Entebbe Municipality and Abed Bwanika.

Among these absent members, some of them are alleged to have shifted to other political parties like Jimmy Lwanga who is said to have joined the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) and Abed Bwanika who is alleged to have joined The former LOP Hon. Mathius Mpuuga who was recently recalled from his position as the Parliamentary Commissioner.

The meeting mainly discussed about the corruption issues and the Principle encouraged the members in antecedence to stop engaging themselves in corruption issues.

This topic was brought about due to the 1.7 billion scandal in parliament that was shared among the four commissioners including the former LOP Mathias Mpuuga who is said to have received 500million as an award for different value system.

Mpuuga clarified that he deserved this award but the party continued to make its decisions of showing him the exit door.
