POLITICS : Hon. Mpuuga Vs The National Unity Platform.

It seems the National Unity Platform top leadership is determined to kick out Hon. Mathius Mpuuga from the party’s administrative structures.

Our sources as tv10ganomazima.news have revealed to us the ongoing plans of totally getting rid of the Masaka Municipality Member of Parliament, because he has turned out to be a threat to some of the party leaders including the party president himself.

Mpuuga is among the few party leaders who are pushing for the use of party primaries in the process of getting the party’s candidates in all positions come 2026, which seems not to be a good political business idea to some members in the parties top leadership.

The fact is, right now the National Unity Platform is totally in the hands of Kyagulanyi, his brother Nyanzi and one or two other people . These few people make most of the party’s decisions without even consulting the party’s National Executive Committee.

So, the idea of party primaries is likely to take away Kyagulanyi’s strong grip on the party’s leadership and decision making, since the leaders will be coming directly from the party’s electorate, not his hand picked favourites as it was in 2020.

NUP and Mpuuga’s linked dealings with some of Museveni’s hunters has also put the party leaders at a weighing scale and it is alleged that they unanimously agreed to give in Mpuuga as their sacrificial lamb.

When Mpuuga was still the Leader of Opposition, because of his budget, he had a lot of resources at his disposal, which enabled him to traverse different parts of the country, hence increasing his popularity with in the country.

This prompted some leaders who are very close to the party president to warn their boss on the rising strength of Mpuuga at grass-root level.

Wait For Part Two (2) Tomorrow.
