OPPOSITION: The Formation Of The Holy Alliance.

Early this week, five (5) opposition parties came together to form “The Holly Alliance “. Among them , we have Ken Lukyamuzi’s Conservative Party, Asuman Basalirwa’s JEEMA, Lubega Mukaku’s DP Block, Joseph Kabuleeta’s National Economic Empowerment Dialogue and Uganda People’s Congress.

According to some of the members of this alliance, this formation is aimed at preparing the opposition leadership for the post Museveni era.

It is also believed that there are other opposition members who are in support of this alliance, but they are still skeptical on whether their-joining of this new “Holy Alliance” will give them the political milage they want come 2026. Among these members, we have some from the National Unity Platform and The Forum For Democratic Change.

What Dose It Mean For The Opposition.

As most political analysts have been coming out to say that the disunity among the opposition parties, is one of the reasons why Museveni is still politically strong.

Though in my personal analysis, i believe this formation is good especially for Political Parties that have been sidelined in other political formations like the United Forces Of Change.

My foresight analysis would be, that as we come closer to the 2026 general elections, all these formations and pressure groups will come together for a general cause of having more members of parliament and councillors win seats on a combined opposition ticket or political force.

The coming together of these formations and pressure groups will even give the opposition a better shot at the position of the President.
