THEFT : Thugs Attacked The Bussuju County Chief At His Home.

Yesterday morning, news came in at our news desk, indicating a robbery in Zigot, Mityana district. The Kabaka’s territorial head of that area was attacked by un known men with panga’s and they even managed to go a way with the Buganda Kingdom Car that was given to the “Mutaaka”, to support him in his work. Below is the Police statement on this robbery.

“The territorial police in Mityana are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred on 29/01/2024 around 0200hrs in Mabuye Kabalungi cell, Zigoti Town Council, Mityana district.

Preliminary findings suggest that at about 0200hrs, three unidentified individuals armed with pangas attacked the home of Ggingo Mark Kaberenge Byekwaso 11, also known as Kasujju.

They tied up the victims, including Ggingo Mark Kaberenge Byekwaso 11 (63 years, male, county chief of Bussuju county), and Nambakire Rosemary (57 years, female, resident of Mabuye Kabalungi cell).

The assailants robbed them of a black Toyota Harrier Reg No UBK 650Y, 3 smartphones, cash amounting to 3.2 million, and other property.

We were informed immediately and rushed to the scene, where our task teams documented and examined the crime scene.

It was established that the robbers forcibly entered, used masking tapes to tie up the victims, and assaulted them with pangas before taking their belongings, including the car ignition key.

Statements from the victims have been recorded, and an exhibit of a bag containing breaking implements was recovered from the crime scene.

Additionally, the robbed motor vehicle was found in a parking located in Wakiso, and towed to Nankuwadde police post.

” This is the stolen car after the thieves removing the Buganda Logos.”

The parking’s security personnel has been arrested to assist in the ongoing investigations. Efforts to arrest the robbers for prosecution are under way.”
