GARLIC: HEALTHY FACTS ABOUT GARLIC.

Garlic is a ubiquitous part of Italian cuisine and with good reason. It is a delicious addition to almost every dish or sauce and it comes with more of its fair share of health benefits.

On average you eat 2Ibs per year of garlic. Obviously, some people eat way more than others, but overall, the average person eats about 2Ibs of garlic each year. That,s actually a lot of garlic! With the average clove weighing a bout 3grams, 2Ib garlic are over 300cloves.

Garlic and its secondary metabolites have shown excellent health promoting and disease preventing on many human common diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, blood pressure, and diabetes, though its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and lipid lowering properties.

Eating garlic regularly at night can have a variety of benefits. Garlic is a natural source of antioxidants ,which can help in protecting your cells from damage and support your overall health. It can also help to lower cholesterol and blood pressure levels, reduce inflammation and boost your immune system.

Garlic is a good source of vitamins A,C and B6 as well as manganese, selenium and fiber. Garlic contains allicin, a compound that has been shown to have anti bacterial, antiviral and anti fungal properties.

Raw garlic is the optimal way to get its benefits however, you can still boost your health by cooking with garlic. If you are using garlic in a recipe, use at least 1-2 cloves per dish, as of raw garlic make sure to crush it to release the components that boost health.
