WOMEN : The Celebration Is Worth It.

Tomorrow 8th March, the country will be celebrating the contribution of women in different sectors as a way of appreciating their contribution to this great country of ours.

This years theme which is  ”Invest in Women: Accelerate progress”, truly explains the fact that if women are given opportunities, they really utilise them very well and even use them to uplift fellow women.

The involvement of women in business and other leadership roles has inspired other women in different parts of the country to also start up their own small businesses and to also compete or take up leadership positions, incase they are given the opportunity.

Great thanks to the current government which has given women a lot of space through its affirmative action programs ever since they came in 1986.

Out of the 31 Cabinet Ministers, we have 14 women and 24 women Sate Ministers out of the 5O State Ministers. This clearly shows you that women now have the space to spearhead the change they want to see in their different communities.

Even in parliament, away from the 146 women district representatives, there are more 43 women who competed favourably with men and ended up winning these seats. This clearly shows you that the affirmative action has really worked.

As women, use the different platforms you have to make this world a better place for both men and women because our coexistence is very important and inevitable.
