SAD NEWS : HON. CECILIA OGWAL DIES IN HOSPITAL IN INDIA.

This morning, the country woke up to the sad news of the death of Dokolo Woman MP Hon. Cecilia Ogwal, who lost a battle to cancer in India. She was born on 06th – December – 1946 in Dokolo District where she has been serving as their Woman Member of Parliament since 1996 up-to the time of her death.

Hon. Cecilia was started her career at an early age , after completing her Bachelors In Commerce from Nairobi University in Kenya, where she also later worked as a liaison officer in charge of refugees at the Ugandan embassy. She was once an acting Secretary General of UPC in 1985, served in the Uganda Constituent Assembly which worked on the 1995 Constitution Of Uganda, she was once a Parliament Representative of Lira Municipality before the creation of Dokolo District and in her early years, she contested in the first Miss Uganda Pageant of 1969 where she emerged as the winner.

Her support for the girl child and women has always been seen in all her works until the time she breathed her last. May Her Soul Rest In Peace.
